Seafood Rainbow Board Book

The book is a nice small size, perfect for little hands. As quality as any other board book would be, the colors are bright, the pictures are cute. I appreciate that it only has a few short lines (one sentence, really) on each page so toddlers don't lose attention while reading. The rhymes are good. There are definitely a few words that are beyond a toddler's vocabulary ("physique"), but it's a time for learning. Lots of information about seafood found in this simple book.

Wanted to take a minute to say how much we appreciated this beautiful book. Loved the colourful rainbow throughout and even learned more about what’s under the sea! (And I’m 40 ;) ). The words had a lovely rhythm and the illustrations quite beautiful. One we keep coming back to! We can’t wait to devour more of your books! 5 stars.

I love this book series so much. The books are high quality, the print is easy to read, and the artwork looks great while also simple. I enjoy sharing the new vocabulary words and fun facts with my little one. We practice saying the words together, and this is helping reinforce color recognition in a fun way!

Picked up this book for my 2 1/2 year old and 7 month old and found the illustrations to be beautiful. Unlike many children's books, the images are realistic and not cartoony but still rich in color and engaging for the kids to look at. I think it's a nice addition to our shelf for both kids. Even though my two year old already knows her colors, there is plenty to ask her as we're flipping through the book to keep her engaged.

I love the colorful illustrations and the playful, poetic way it introduces different sea creatures, keeping things fun and brief while still being informative.That said, the title is a little misleading—it's called Seafood Rainbow, but the book doesn't actually talk about the creatures as food at all. It's really just about the ocean animals themselves and their colors, which is totally fine, but the title made me think there might be some connection to seafood or eating them, and there isn't. Still a very cute book that I'm happy to add to our collection and use for lots of read-aloud time!

This is a super cute and unique board book. My son loves the colors. The quality of the illustrations is wonderful. I also like that it has a good vocabulary words so he can definitely grown into this book vs the one he will outgrow in a year. Great educational item that's fun for both of us to look at.

Lots of great colors and seafood! The pages are very sturdy, so it should last awhile even if the little ones read it by themselves. The drawings are nicely detailed, and showcase the colors well.

This is a great addition to our Chunky Deli library. It has the same bold pictures and bright colours that little ones love. It's of durable construction, so happy for our little one to read by themselves. The choices of seafood are varied.

If this was the list price of $12.99, I would have given 4 stars, but as it is currently at $9.99, I am rounding up instead. There isn't much to say about it. It is your standard board book. The book itself is sturdy enough, and the colors and rhyming work okay. It's just one of many that do similar things. Still, for "under" $10, it is a decent enough addition to the set.

Another awesome little board book for my toddler. The artwork is minimalist and the colors vibrant. This particular book covers everything seafood. We've been exposing our little guy to more unique foods so going through this book had been rather fascinating for him as he's pointing out things he tried. Durable book and bounded quite nicely. Recommend to all the adventurous eaters out there.

This is a lovely little book that highlights all sorts of sea creatures that might end up on your plate. Some of them are a bit unusual, but the illustrations are so lovely you really don't mind. This book is advertised as "designed to inspire budding foodies," but only 2 of the 10 animals are actually described as a seafood dish i.e. prepared for eating. The rest of the pages describe the animals as alive in the ocean. It feels like the author changed their mind about the purpose of the book after writing the first two pages. As such, I think this book is more likely to inspire a child to NOT eat seafood out of sympathy for the animal (like a kid who refuses to eat any more hot dogs after finding out they come from pigs). Despite that, vegans will want to give it a pass with the first two pages talking about lobsters gracing the table spread and roe bursting open tasting salty-sweet.That said, the bright colors and stylized illustrations are eye-catching and appealing to look at, and the rhyming text is fun to read. It is a good book for teaching colors and names of ocean creatures to young children.

My grandniece is 5 so she's just outside the age range for this board book, but she really like the Spice board book from this publisher so I got this one on Seafood for her. She doesn't so much like the text although it is interesting to her. What she likes best is the simple, colorful art. In this book, she really loved the purple urchin. She loves art and this book inspires her to create which is fantastic for her. I do feel it is age appropriate for the listed age range. The text is charming and again, the artwork, while simple, is vibrant and colorful.

I really wanted to like this book—the illustrations are adorable, the colors are vibrant, and the simple narrative is perfect for toddlers to follow.That said, the storytelling has a major conceptual flaw. The first two pages focus on seafood—as in, fish on a plate ready to be eaten. But then, without any transition or explanation, the rest of the book shifts to sea life—living fish swimming in the ocean. This sudden shift from food to living creatures is jarring and confusing, especially for young children still forming basic concepts about the world.I try to fill my home with books that inspire curiosity and expand my kids' understanding—not ones that might muddle it. While this book is undeniably beautiful, the narrative disconnect makes it feel poorly thought out. Disappointing.
