We first met in Brooklyn, navigating the startup world by day and feasting on the city's delicious foods and vibrant design culture by night. Our shared love for food, creativity, and exploration kept us hunting for the next dish to try and the next idea to spark.
It wasn't until we became mothers that we realized something was missing: a way for parents to share their own culinary passions with their tiniest tasters.

Our Story
2021
The spark
As longtime friends and new moms, we craved a way to share our love for food with kids in a fun, accessible way. With a small initial investment and boundless heart, we set out to blend food, design, and early learning through playful books centered around food. Our first releases, Little Book of Pasta and Little Book of Cookies quickly sold out, sparking momentum for new titles, bundled sets, and the beginning of a flavorful journey.
2023
The Growth
What began at a kitchen table started gaining serious momentum online. Operations expanded dramatically, turning Caitlin's garage into a full-on fulfillment center. As demand for their books and expanded product lines, including custom apparel and gift-ready bundles, soared, they navigated the delightful chaos of rapid growth. While balancing family life, hand-packing every order, and setting up systems for efficiency as a multi-channel brand, their efforts culminated in a wildly successful first holiday season. This laid the groundwork for an incredible 2024 and the company found its new name, Chunky Deli.
2024–Today
The Present
Today, Chunky Deli remains proudly self-funded and deeply focused on designing and developing new products based on the foods their beloved customers crave. They've truly delved into understanding their customer—the gift-givers—implementing fresh ways to foster connection over food. Now Chunky Deli is reaching more families through over 180 retail locations and a thriving community of mini chefs and curious eaters. From bold board books to culinary-inspired gifts, every new item is crafted to spark creativity, connection, and play, for kids and their grown-ups alike.
