Spice Rainbow Art Cards
These cards are so cute and the descriptions will hopefully make the recipient of this gift have fun teaching their baby about color and tastes!
These are meant for babies, but they are beautiful and can serve as great culinary conversation starters for older kids and adults. Honestly, as a pediatric dietitian myself, I would change the marketing to avoid so many references to babies. People do not know about seasonings. They don't know how to make their food tasty. Using these cards can help someone get into a more creative mood, willing to experiment with new flavors and smells in the kitchen. This is a great gift for the food lover or picky eater in your life.
At first I hesitated to request these cards since they cost more than $1 per card, but I'm so glad I did. They are much thicker and higher quality than I thought they would be- they're very thick like a high-quality board book. The colors are very vibrant, and despite my camera's shortcomings, the text is very clear as well. The poems are so cute and the illustrations are darling. I love educational toys for babies and these cards are so good for early literacy. We teach our babies to read using Glenn Doman's method (How to Teach Your Baby to Read). 6 down one to go. One of the things he recommends doing is finding or making resources that show the text separate from illustrations. Too often baby books have small text and the illustrations distract tiny children from the words. It's much better to show words first and then reward them with a picture right after. These cards are perfect for that! You can read the poem while tracing the words with your finger, and then turn it over and show them the picture. I love that the cards will reinforce familiar lessons for babies (their colors), and then taking it a step further by enhancing it with pictures and rich poetry. I love these cards so much! My baby seems to like them too, at least he hasn't told me otherwise, haha.
