This is such a cute book and a prefect companion for a toddler who is obsessed with watching their parents use the grill. It details parts of the grill, types of grilling, and has sufficient warnings about how to stay safe around the grill. We have an electric grill, so I love that the book included this option along with the typical gas, propane and charcoal grills. The toddler loved this book and learned lots of new grilling words.
This is a fun summer read with my little one. It introduces lots of new vocabulary. My 2-year-old especially enjoys looking at all the different kinds of foods. It talks about a variety of different things that can be cooked "BBQ style" and different cooking techniques. The artwork is great, and fonts are easy to read. Lots of fun!

While I love this book and find the bright colors and subject matter charming as an adult, it's not tailored to babies or toddlers like a board book should be. It's more for an adult audience than anything.My 2 year old and 1 year old are not interested in this book - the font is small and each page is wordy. There are not enough illustrations, and in general it's age inappropriate. Part of creating a product is understanding your audience first - the author skipped that step.
Very cute book. Well made. Bright pages. Informational. Tot will like the colors and then start to recognize the images and eventually understand the information as they grow. Got for my husband for out 1yo and almost 4yo. Both kids like the book.
This is fun little board book. Obviously "BBQ" is too complex a topic for the board-book age. But this is still fun for adults, and the kids who are too small for BBQ won't care about the topic anyway.The artwork is decent, and the pace is appropriate for a board book (not too text-heavy, no plot to speak of, etc). It's WAY overpriced, but then again what board book isn't?

So the thought of a children's board book introducing the youngest kids to barbecue felt like a genius idea. And I thought A Tiny Guide to BBQ did a very good job with the basics. They explain the heat, they show the tools, they talk about safety, and they talk about flavor. Concept is great for dads to interact with babies. But a few pages have pictures and backgrounds very close in color, which doesn't make it made for babies who need contrast.

Honestly I bought this as a funny gift for my son in law. He wants to learn how to grill, and his wife collects children's books. Add to that, the book is really quite informative. I actually learned something from the book and I've been grilling for 3 decades.

I selected this little board book for a grand niece who loves helping her father with barbecue at family get-togethers. She's the youngest in her family at five, but still, the board book connected for her, because she is familiar with seeing those items even if her father doesn't name the items for her. So she was delighted with the board book. It is simple and colorful so it was super easy to read.
I love little board books like this and this one really impressed me. The colors are bright and vibrant to enchant young minds. The text is actually a lot more detailed than I expected and discusses anything and everything to do with BBQ including how the grill works as well as details like rubs and seasonings. I loved the clear layout of each page and the nice designs of the images as well. Additionally, I really appreciate that they included a full two page spread on having adult help before using the grill! I'm a grill master and the instant I saw this book I knew I just had to pick it up. Its a nicely made board book with minimalist drawings and vibrant colors. It talks about what BBQ is, the tools you can use for BBQ, and some safety tips. Everything is all in simple language and great for toddlers. I did find that this book was a bit too easy for my 4.5 y.o. but he still enjoyed it a lot. This book is perfect for any grill masters out there wanting to teach their kiddos the wonders of BBQ.
