Gourmet Rainbow Board Book

The gbabies love to eat and cook and to read books. This is a great board book, fairly durable, for learning about colors, foods, and poetry. Some of the foods are less likely to be in the American toddler's diet, but you never know. Ours have had truffles and olives, for instance, and now they know about caviar and escargot as well. We are creating gourmet kids!

I have been reading this book to my 1 year old toddler and she loves it. This book has thick pages which makes it easy for my toddler to turn. The book as very bright colors and great pictures. I love how this book uses foods to explain colors. The book as great descriptions of the colors and foods and each on of the rhyme.

This is a cute book that matches gourmet food to the rainbow. Each page has a different food and a nice little rhyme to go with it. The pictures are simple, but eye catching, especially for a baby. My only complaint is the book came warped and does not close or lay flat.

First impressions matter! The packaging and care and detail made a huge impact. Then the product itself was fabulous.

Fun books for foodie families to share with kids!

This is a great gift for baby showers or 1st birthdays. I love how each color corresponds to a food and they can learn what each of the foods are at a very young age. A great way to expand vocabulary and possibly to a way to introduce a new food. I don't know if the book was intended to lay flat but mine did not arrive like that but it does make it easier for kids to turn the page.

I'm not a full-on foodie, but I like to expose my kids to different things and like many toddler parents, it's always nice to put a new book into the rotation of tried and true favorites. It arrived quickly and I was really impressed with the quality of the book itself! It's a great size for small kids with nice thick pages and soothing colors. I would imagine that the average kid is not going to eat all of the foods mentioned in this book, but the colors are fun and not so punchy that they wouldn't fit the trendy baby aesthetics at the moment. As you can see in the product description, there are some foods that might not fit well in a vegan or vegetarian household, but we are neither so it's not a problem. This would be a perfect baby shower gift for the pregnant foodie in your life!

Basic board book apparently made for budding young foodies. Each page contains a simple, digital illustration of a gourmet food item accompanied by a short poem about said food item. The illustrations employee bright colors and a simple, stark style that very young children will enjoy.The vocabulary is too advanced for young readers ("charcuterie", "escargot"), and the poetry is sometimes a chore to read aloud. Roughly half the poems have no regard for meter or are built around an unnatural forced rhyme. Figs apparently "make you toot" because "toot" rhymes with "fruit", and escargot is inexplicably a source of "great debate" to force a rhyme with "plate". This is about par for the course for board books these days, but it seems that another brainstorming session or two could have come up with something better. Or maybe I'm just old and jaded and can't believe that everyone's not Dr. Seuss.The book I received is warped and won't lay flat, and it seems irreparable in this regard. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing defect or if it was deformed in shipping, but even with a dictionary on top of it it's not returning to its proper shape.But overall this is a pretty cute board book. Kids will enjoy it but it's really more for the parents. A perfect gift for your fancy fine dining friends who are just now encountering the messy realities of parenthood.

This is listed as a board book.. so I was disappointed when it arrived and it was just a bunch of cards in a little box. It had a lot of potential because I really liked the concept and illustrations. However, it's just really inconvenient to have to keep all the cards together and try not to lose one in a house with two little ones (under two). Would really prefer this in book form.

This book is great for the foodie or chef family. The foods introduced are gourmet and unusual coordinated with rainbow colors. It was fun to answer questions my kids had about the new foods and expand their view a bit. The pages and thick and sturdy and the pictures are bright and cute.

My 18 month old granddaughter loves it when I read her books. This one is a sturdy little book that helps her learn her colors and also start to recognize different food types than are not in some other books like lemon and popcorn. This, however, is an issue, too, as the book says 0-4 years and I'd say it's more like 4-6 because reading words like Charcuterie and Fungi when describing escargot, prosciutto, and caviar have no meaning to younger learners, so I just made my own up. She tried to say lemon and popcorn, which she may run into as a child, so these were worthy; however, just 3 stars as it seems to have been mis-aged, in my opinion and a little too 'gourmet' for the ages listed. JMHO.

It has colorful illustrations and a memorable and fun poem to go with each food. As a curious adult, this little book provided some ideas on foods to try.

This baby book is cute and different. I love the different foods that are mentioned in here, like escargot, and how they're not all normally popular foods that baby or a young child may hear about. It's a really nice little board book and would make a nice gift. The bright colors make the book eye grabbing, and that they go through all of the colors of the rainbow makes the book even more fun.

It'll be a while before this 6 month old actually learns these words, but at least the sentences are pretty simple. Kind of on the fence about calling escargot orange, but whatever.The book has nice big but simple drawings in thick cardboard pages, so it seems durable and good for little kids. But I think that construction is causing some problem because the book doesn't stay closed. Maybe a humidity problem? I'm not sure.

I thought this was a great alternative to your typical food rainbow board book, with unique foods that most toddlers aren't often exposed to. The artwork is colorful and eye-catching, and the poems are good too. This would make a cute gift for a kiddo with foodie parents.

This little board book about food and color is beautifully printed bright colors and also has different textures to feel and talk about. We are saving it to read to our 2-year-old, but we are sure she's going to love this book.On a side note, the meat part is tricky -- we have vegetarians/vegans in the family. If your family is vegan, you may want to avoid this book because it does address meat as food.Otherwise, and overall, it's a beautiful little book!

This is a wonderful book for children. The picture are great. It is a thick cardboard book but it did arrive pretty severely bent. Still usable though.
