I love this little book! As soon as I saw it, I had to order it for my toddler! We love to read together, and this is a special book, that you wouldn't find at your average bookstore. It's very easy to read and brings some basic mushrooms and fungi strains to light. I never learned about how amazing mushrooms, and fungi could be until I was an adult. They are so delicious, and many of them can be used as medicine. I was thrilled to share this little book with my toddler, in the hopes that they will grow with more interest and an open-mind to the beauty of nature. And hopefully be more likely to eat mushrooms when they are served in a dish. This book covers a few common strains of mushrooms, mostly of the gourmet varieties. It's very fun, with cute illustrations.

This is a cute little board book that covers the main types of mushrooms used for culinary purposes. The book is well bound with colorful and fun illustrations and rhyming text. While it probably won't be a bedtime favorite, I'm hoping it'll help inspire my toddler to eat the mushrooms his dad regularly cooks with dinner.
I am expecting and having a baby in June. I'm doing a mushroom-themed shower and nursery and I loved the look of this book. It's even cuter than I expected! All the mushrooms are illustrated so adorably and they all have little eyes. It's informative however the text won't be applicable (though it does have fantastic vocabulary) until the child is older so I wouldn't say it exactly fits your expectations of a board book, but as a mushroom enthusiast, I hope this starts an interest in my kid early.The quality of the printing is clear and bright, and the thickness of the cardboard is adequately sturdy. Makes a lovely gift to a young nature-loving children and parents!
